Harlingen, TX — August 17, 2025 — The first-ever Ignition United Car Show brought energy, excitement, and community spirit to the Harlingen Convention Center this past weekend. Hundreds of attendees came together to celebrate cars, community, and the power of nonprofits - making the event a resounding success.
Sponsors and Supporters
Ignition United would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors. Special thanks go to Title Sponsors Bert Ogden Dodge Jeep and Ram and RGV Off-Road, as well as STX Overland, Ruben Cavazos, Willacy County Treasurer, and Strategic Spark RGV for helping launch this inaugural event.
The Harlingen Convention Center also played a critical role by providing the space and concessions that brought the event to life.
Community Involvement
Car clubs across the Rio Grande Valley showed up in full force, promoting the event within their crews and showcasing their vehicles. Ohana Off-Road Community took home the award for Most Engaged Car Club and generously shared drone footage of the event. San Antonio-based photographer @shotby_elronin donated his time to capture both stunning photos and aerial footage of the vehicles.
Nonprofit organizations lined the venue to connect with attendees and share their work, while the United Way Board of Directors and Mayor Norma Sepulveda joined in to help with judging duties.
Generosity Jackpot Announcement
Ignition United also served as the stage for the announcement of our Generosity Jackpot winners. Five community members each received $1,000 gift cards, and the $5,000 jackpot award was presented to the Harlingen Neighborhood Food Pantry, supporting their vital work in feeding local families.
Looking Ahead
The success of Ignition United underscores the strength and passion of the community. From sponsors and nonprofits to car clubs and families, every participant played a part in making this first event unforgettable.
“This was only the beginning,” said United Way of Northern Cameron County staff. “Ignition United has set the stage for what we hope will become an annual tradition that continues to unite our community.”
